About Scott Kashman
My background in healthcare started in the late 1980s as a patient counselor. Soon, my career moved into healthcare management where I’ve held healthcare executive roles in several healthcare systems. Additional certifications include:
- Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives
- Executive Coach through the NeuroLeadership Institute™ and
- National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer.
The book, Mindful Healthcare: Healthy Team, Healthy Business, was published with my co-author, Joan Odorizzi, RN.
Over the years, my role has allowed me to focus on the safe delivery of care and the health of our communities. The healthcare challenges and opportunities are unlimited and exciting. It is a great time to be in healthcare…we all have the ability to influence and truly make a difference in the health of our communities.
My blog will speak to my perspective on Healthy Team, Healthy Business. I also look forward to hearing and sharing your perspectives and experiences. Ready to share and learn from each other?

Healthy Team, Healthy Business is focused on taking care of the leaders and teams who are shaping tomorrow’s healthcare delivery and healthier communities. The passion and commitment are built on the foundation of people, leveraging science, data analytics, relationships and problem-solving skills to create healthier teams and communities.
Why Do Healthy Teams Matter?
So many organizations struggle doing this and focus on health and wellbeing as an “add-on role” or when time allows. A focus on the health and well-being of our teams, showing we care, is key to thriving staff and organization. Healthy Team, Healthy Business is committed to partnering with leaders and organizations to bring their vision to reality.
We facilitate a process which excels an organization’s culture, performance outcomes, staff engagement, financial alignment and their community’s health.

This book describes how Cape Coral Hospital became more than just a traditional hospital and evolved into a much more profound community health resource. There are lessons here for every healthcare organization as we make the transition from sick care to health promotion and from payment for services to payment for value.
